Co-op Academies across the Wirral unite to promote wellbeing

Our well-being Big Dip!

At Co-op Academy Hillside, we are working with Co-op Academy Portland and Woodslee to help everyone in our school communities feel happy and healthy. Together, we have planned lots of fun activities to bring students, staff and families together while looking after both our bodies and minds.

Recently, we took part in a six-hour Spinathon to raise money for Wirral Mind as part of Time to Talk Day. We also run ‘Natter Box’ sessions, where families can meet up, chat, and support each other.

This week, we joined forces once again for our first-ever Big Dip! Around 25 parents, carers and staff from all three academies braved the freezing cold sea at Leasowe Bay - and it was amazing! We all cheered each other on, and even though it was chilly, it was a great way to challenge ourselves and have fun together.

We have even more exciting events coming up, including a Colour Run in the summer and another Big Dip - hopefully in slightly warmer water this time!

One of our parents shared how much they love being part of Hillside and our Co-op family:

“I have been a parent of Co-op Academy Hillside for over 15 years - way before Co-op arrived. I feel like our school has its heart back and now we are with Woodslee and Portland, it feels like we are a part of something bigger, something better.

“Not only are my children getting a better deal now, I am too! Not many schools care about the parents the way that our schools do and I think it’s brilliant. I have loved doing the dip. I would never have been brave enough to come and do this alone. I can’t wait for the next one!”
