Our stars of the term have been having lots of fun at Bidston activity centre this month. 16 children in KS2 got to enjoy a morning taking part in the Tag active zone and soft play area. Bidston Sports and Activity Centre, formerly known as Wirral Tennis and Sports Centre, is open after extensive redevelopment to the facilities in 2023. The brand new active zone offers an extensive fun packed soft play area and TAG active arena. These 16 children got full use of these facilities and had the whole place to themselves. This was an opportunity presented to us by Active Wirral after working closely with them for the last 5 months inside and outside of school. 

Active Wirral have been doing lots of work with Co op Academy Hillside this year. They have been providing us with information about out of-school activities on offer, coffee mornings and sporting events for our children. 

One child said “I have had so much fun this morning I just loved it” 

Another child mentioned how they enjoyed being out of the classroom and getting to run around and have so much fun for the morning. They also commented on how lucky they felt to be able to go on such a fun trip. 

Sammie (Active Wirral Team Leader) said “the children seemed to really enjoy themselves here. They were so well behaved, very polite and a great group to have here at our centre. We hope to set up more sessions like this for children to enjoy. We are also happy to see children in our community enjoying our new amazing facilities”.
