This week Years 1, 2 and 3 enjoyed a fantastic sports day.
They all had a variety of tasks to complete, they all needed to use a variety of skills and they all had so much fun.
Thank you to Mr Farrell and Mike for organising such a great sporting event.
Thank you to the Year 5 children for being such magnificent support into the smooth running of the event.
Finally thank you to families for coming along and making it super special!
Year 5 visited Hilbre Residential Care Home to share some songs, stories and smiles.
The children were wonderfully kind and respectful. We are so proud of them!
Thank you Year 5 for sharing yourselves with our wonderful community!
This week Hillside celebrated Refugee week.
We took part in the Hearts for Refugees campaign, every child in the school created a heart with messages, letters, poems or drawings of welcome on them.
Each class also spent an afternoon learning about this year’s theme; compassion.
To top it all off, the whole school also observed a sponsored silence to raise money for a local Wirral charity, Hearts4refugees.
Today, Year 4 a great time using straws to add a bit of fun to our writing lesson!
Year 4 were focussing on direct speech and reporting clauses, making sure to use inverted commas correctly.
They even did some drama and put themselves into our characters shoes, or should we say flippers!
Year 2 had a blast making shelters with Commando Joe.
Year 3 put on a cracking performance for their class assembly.
They taught us all about the Egyptians, they read beautiful writing that they had created and even taught us some mathematics.
Thank you Year 3!
Year 6 created a fantastic piece of drama on the circulatory system.
They had all of the different components and really thought about the function of each part.
Well done Year 6!
Year 6 are learning about the circulatory system.
They looked specifically at the heart and its function.
Then they became sculptors and made a scientific clay model of a heart.
Our Eco-Council joined in with a Community litter pick on the estate.
If you were lucky enough, you’d have seen us! Hopefully our community will stay litter free from now on.
