Special Education Needs

At Hillside, we are a fully inclusive community.

We recognise that all pupils are unique and we provide a stimulating and rich curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils.

We are, however, aware that some children require additional support. This may be due to a range of different needs. They can be learning, health & disability, behavioural or emotional needs. Some children may have a combination of needs.

At Hillside, we are very proud of the support that we have available to pupils with additional needs and their families. We run a range of support and intervention programmes that are carefully tailored to meet the needs of individual pupils. Through careful monitoring and support, we aim to ensure that the needs of our pupils are met and that every child can achieve their full potential.

We are committed to working in partnership with families, external agencies, and the Local Authority in providing the best level of support to our pupils.

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo) is Leanne McGowan. If you require any advice or support, please contact the school office, either in person or by telephone via the school office and she will be happy to arrange a meeting with you.
